ABOUT THE PROJECT
Standing prominently along 16th Street, the historic Municipal Building has been repositioned as a lively mixed-use destination that supports both downtown business activity and modern residential living. Originally constructed in the 1920s, the building now blends its timeless architectural presence with thoughtfully designed spaces that serve today’s community.
Project Overview
The redevelopment of the Municipal Building focused on creating an active street-level experience while introducing high-quality housing above. The project delivers multiple retail storefronts on the main level and upscale apartments on the second floor, strengthening the building’s role as a central hub within downtown Ord.
Careful attention was given to maintaining the building’s historic identity while updating interiors, layouts, and building systems to meet contemporary expectations for comfort, functionality, and longevity.
Street-Level Retail
The main floor is configured to accommodate six individual retail storefronts, offering flexible spaces suitable for a range of local businesses, professional services, and specialty retail. Large storefront windows and direct street access provide strong visibility and help activate the downtown streetscape.
Second-Floor Apartments
Located above the retail level are three upscale residential units, designed to offer modern living within a historic framework. Apartment layouts include both spacious two-bedroom, one-bath units and efficient one-bedroom, one-bath residences, appealing to a variety of residents.
The apartments feature updated finishes, functional layouts, and elevated views overlooking downtown Ord, creating a comfortable and connected urban living experience.
